Trained at the Haute \u00c9cole de Joaillerie de Paris -HEJ- Alexandrine Le M\u00e9tayer created her ethical jewellery brand “Mademoiselle C\u00f4me” driven by her desire to offer jewellery in noble materials, such as gold and diamonds, so that they are sparkling and delicate, while remaining in line with her environmental values (ethical 18 carat gold only recycled in France). Imagine, Dream, Create. <\/p>\n

At the beginning, she proposed tailor-made creations through meetings with her first clients, then inspiration led her to create her first collections of jewellery. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

“In all my creations shapes, patterns and techniques prevail, they are chosen only to highlight the uniqueness of the diamond, its quality, its cut, its purity and its shades. <\/p>\n

The fineness of a line of diamonds placed directly on the skin. Stripped of all superfluity, the guiding lines of Mademoiselle C\u00f4me jewellery confidently trace the sharp contours of a barely perceptible architecture. A dash of light to electrify the silhouette with essential chic. <\/p>\n

Each piece, conceived and designed with comfort in mind, accompanies women in their freedom of movement, the suppleness releases dynamism and vibrant energy. <\/p>\n

To approach the creation around the diamond without complex, with impertinence and lightness of spirit. The frame disappears, the pieces are hollowed out, perforated or with holes. “I imagine and make each of my jewels myself by hand, like the great houses of Place Vend\u00f4me. Each step is done entirely by hand, the design, the making of the jewel, the setting, the polishing, the punching, the casing. I use the lost wax casting technique, a technique dating back to antiquity. Today, this technique consists of sculpting a volume or a jewel in wax by hand using tools such as scoops, then taking the imprint of this wax in a silicone mould into which the molten metal will be poured in order to see the precious jewel being born. No piece is made in 3D, each piece of jewellery is born from the hand of its creator: the jewel is unique”.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The setting consists in fixing the stones in the structure of the metal jewel. I set my own pieces in my workshop but also call on a Parisian setter when the work is too delicate, because jeweller and setter are two very different professions.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Polishing is the finishing technique that consists of passing the jewel through rollers with an abrasive paste to make the metal shiny. I do the finishing myself and it’s one of my favourite moments: seeing the jewel shine through a well-cared-for metal.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

In the making of my jewellery, I use exclusively recycled 18-carat gold according to ethical and ecological processes. The gems are also ethical and certified not to come from countries in armed conflict according to the Kimberley Label. <\/p>\n
